It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Join Mayor Bill Hennessy in officially welcoming Santa to O’Fallon as we count down to the lighting of our spectacular tree inside City Hall. Once the thousands of sparkling lights brighten up the winter darkness, make holiday memories with tons of family-friendly activities and a chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus!

While your children enjoy holiday games and contests, parents can take a stroll through our Holiday Market and shop for festive home décor and unique artisan creations. On Friday, November 21st Alton Main Street will host an event that’s sure to get you into the holiday spirit. The 32nd annual Community Tree Lighting at Lincoln-Douglas Square will begin with the arrival of Santa Claus at 6:00 p.m. The free festivities, including caroling, cookies and hot cocoa, will continue until 6:45 when Mayor David Goins flips the lights on the beautiful tree, which is provided by the Alton-Godfrey Rotary Club. Families are encouraged to bring their cameras to take pictures with Santa and other costumed holiday characters.

Gateway Arch Park Foundation’s Winterfest is back in Kiener Plaza!

The Ameren Missouri Festival of Lights returns in 2025 to usher in the holiday season in St. Louis, light The Salvation Army tree of lights and open Winterfest. Join us on Saturday, Nov. 22, in Kiener Plaza to kick-off The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign as we light the Tree of Lights. For more than 75 years, the tree has stood as a beacon of hope to the St. Louis community.

Join us for a family friendly and free event in Kiener Plaza while enjoying local holiday themed talent performances, new vendors booths and exhibits, photo ops with mascots, including Fredbird, real live reindeer and a magical fireworks finale.

Winterfest is bringing back all the fan favorites, including ice skating, s’mores stations and igloos underneath 100,000 twinkling lights in the shadow of the Gateway Arch. This six-week winter celebration will also showcase exciting events like try hockey free, visits from princesses and superheroes, and a family friendly New Year’s Eve fireworks spectacular.

This year the popular Enchanted Forest where visitors vote on their favorite decorated tree returns to the park, as do visits with Santa Claus! Take your own free photos with Santa! Walkthrough night is always the first Monday after Thanksgiving (6 p.m. – 9 p.m.) for anyone who wants to brave the cold and get an up-close-and-personal view of the holiday light show!

Holiday Night Lights in Wentzville

The annual Wentzville Holiday Night Lights display at Rotary Park opens on Friday, Nov. 28 through Dec. 30. Enjoy a one-mile light display that features large illuminated commercial scenes and tunnels of twinkling lights. This holiday display is a great way to experience the magic and joy of the season close to home. It is open 5:30-9:30 p.m. nightly except Dec. 14, 15 and 25 and opens after the conclusion of the Holiday Night Lights 5K and Fun Run on Dec. 7 (approximately 7 p.m.) It is $15 per vehicles holding up to six passengers and $1 per additional person after the sixth. On Saturdays, guests can enjoy a visit with Santa inside the Kolb Building. You may purchase your tickets at the Drive-Thru or prior to your visit.

Teddy Bear Christmas Land

Celebration of Lights is a holiday light display held at Fort Zumwalt Park in O’Fallon, Missouri. Each scene is designed and funded by local organizations, churches and businesses. Started in 1991, the holiday event attracts more than 13,000 vehicles each year and more than 10,000 individuals during the Old-Fashioned Holiday Stroll.

Shrewsbury is the place to be this holiday season! Hot cocoa, cookies, and Holiday music sung by the Hixson Choir to get you in the festive mood. And guess who’s making a grand entrance at 7:00 pm? Santa himself! He’s going to help us light up those trees and spread some holiday cheer. Don’t forget to help spread the holiday cheer by bringing a non-perishable food item to be donated to a local food pantry.

Maplewood Christmas Tree Walk

Kick off in CNB Bank Park and continues through Maplewood

December 5 | 6 – 9 pm

The kick off begins at 6:00 p.m. with caroling, the arrival of Santa Claus and lighting of the town christmas tree. After the kick off, enjoy merchant open houses, visits with Santa Clause, carriage rides, and more throughout downtown Maplewood.

From costumed carolers to horse drawn carriage rides, the Maplewood Christmas Tree Walk radiates holiday spirit that is reminiscent of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol!

After the grand lighting of the tree and the arrival of Santa, visitors can enjoy a carriage ride and sip hot chocolate while visiting merchant open houses throughout Maplewood. Business storefronts will be decked out for the season with many featuring live entertainment, complimentary refreshments and special discounts throughout the evening.

Maryland Heights Holiday Tree Lighting

The Christmas Experience: A Drive Through Light, Joy, + Hope

Christmas Candlelight Walks

Step back in time this holiday season during The Historic Daniel Boone Home’s annual Christmas Candlelight Walks. The historic village comes alive as guests experience different holiday traditions reminiscent of life in the early 1800s. Listen to holiday tales as you meander through the park, illuminated with thousands of candles; enjoy traditional carols as you sip on warm apple cider; and visit the Christkindlmarkt in the Grand Pavilion.

Though there will be warming stations, remember to dress for the weather. Walking will be on dark candlelit gravel and grass paths, so good walking shoes are encouraged.

Guests walk at their own pace after they enter the event but expect short waits outside various vignettes. Each station repeats every 8-10 minutes.

Christmas at Collins House and Light Up Parade

Collinsville, IL

The event will include an evening holiday light-up parade through Uptown Collinsville and end with festivities at the Historical Collins House. The festivities will include food and drink specials at participating Uptown restaurants, a Window Display Contest, a tree lighting ceremony, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, bonfires and s’mores, and various family friendly activities.

Tree Lighting in Overland

Join the City of Overland as we celebrate our Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 7, 2025 at 6:00 pm at Erickson Plaza (Located on the corner of Woodson Road and Midland Blvd). There will be hot cocoa, Christmas cookies, music with singing, and a special visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus! This is a free event that is open to the public. Kick off the holiday spirit by joining us at the ceremony!

Wentzville Tree Lighting and Christmas Parade

December 7 at 5:30 pm

The Annual Tree Lighting and Spirit of the Season Parade are Wentzville traditions. Mayor Nick Guccione will officially begin the tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. in Historic Downtown Wentzville at the intersection of Luetkenhaus and Pearce boulevards. The parade will begin after the Tree Lighting Ceremony is complete (approximately 6 p.m.) at Pearce Hall located at 317 W. Pearce Blvd. in Wentzville. It will travel down east down Pearce Boulevard and turn left to head north on Luetkenhaus Boulevard. It will end at the Station 1 Firehouse located at 502 Luetkenhaus Blvd. in Wentzville. Following the parade, attendees may enjoy cookies, candy canes, hot chocolate and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Station 1 Firehouse.

Overland Christmas Light Trolley Tours

We are back with our popular Annual Christmas Trolley Tour. Tour dates are set for December 11, 12, and 13 with trolleys leaving at various times each night. Space is limited and tickets will go on sale starting November 29 at 8 am at the Overland Community Center.
