10 Places to Go for a Glass of Wine in St. Louis

With time, I’ve come to appreciate the simple pleasures in life, like sharing a glass of wine with a friend! Thanks to my sommelier husband, I’ve grown to appreciate all that encompasses a quality wine from the region, to the grape, to the climate, the soil type, and more. Here are some of my favorite spots to enjoy a glass in St. Louis!

Sasha’s Wine Bar

Clayton | 706 De Mun Ave #2238, St. Louis, MO 63105

Shaw | 4069 Shaw Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63110

The OG of wine bars in St. Louis, Sasha’s is a key player on the wine bar scene for a reason! The cozy vibes and the extensive wine list make both of these locations the spot for a perfect night out. They have a full menu, and I always enjoy sharing one of their charcuterie boards!

Scarlett’s Wine Bar

4253 Laclede Ave, St. Louis, MO 63108

I’m biased when it comes to Scarlett’s Wine Bar because my husband and I are the owners, but I think it’s the best wine bar in the city! The patio vibes on a crisp autumn night are unmatched, you’ll often hear live music on the weekends, and the French-infused menu has something for everyone! From escargot to pizzas, your belly will thank you. The romantic decor inside will leave you feeling just as delighted. Come see us soon at Scarlett’s! Happy hour runs all day on Tuesdays!

Acero Restaurant

7266 Manchester Rd, Maplewood, MO 63143

You likely know Acero as one of the city’s top spots for a delicious Italian meal, but their wine list is unmatched and one of the most complex and extensive in the city! Grab a dinner reservation (get the egg raviolo, I promise you won’t regret it – or the prosciutto beignets! YUM!) and come early for a glass of wine at the bar. As you might imagine, the key Italian wines reign supreme here, and their experienced staff will make sure you get the best pairing with your meal!

Wild Crush

13360 Clayton Rd Suite 105, St. Louis, MO 63131

Wild Crush is a newcomer to the scene, but this is such a fun, unique spot nestled in West County! They have a beautiful patio and often live music! They have a selection of wines from all over the world available in 2, 4, & 6 oz. self-serve pours (you get your own glass!), as well as by the bottle! They have a modest menu with a few nibbles to enjoy along with your drink. Cocktails, too! Happy hour runs Wednesday – Friday from 4 – 6 pm.

Bridge Tap House and Wine Bar

1004 Locust St, St. Louis, MO 63101

This cozy wine bar in downtown is an old favorite of mine! Classic spots stand the test of time on the St. Louis food scene, and this is one of them. Be sure to grab a cozy spot on the mezzanine if it’s available. I love their mix-and-match charcuterie offering, and their wine-by-the-glass selection is excellent. This spot is a must try!

33 Wine Shop & Bar

1913 Park Ave, St. Louis, MO 63104

This is a hidden gem in Lafayette Square! My favorite part? The vast patio in the back under the canopy of twinkle lights. I always see families enjoying time together at this spot, but this is definitely worth adding to your list. A robust wine menu and tasty items to nibble on!

Bella Vino Winery

325 S Main St, St Charles, MO 63301

Spend the afternoon shopping in the charming historic district of St. Charles and stop for a glass on their beautiful front (or back!) patio and some shared tapas. This is a gem that you’ll want to make sure to add to your St. Charles list! Pro tip: try the shared fondue, your group will love it! Or the chorizo-stuffed dates. Or all of it!

Noboleis Winery

100 Hemsath Rd, Augusta, MO 63332

Noboleis Winery is St. Louis Mom approved! We discovered this Augusta winery a few years ago, and it’s become our very favorite spot to enjoy local wine. Take a day trip and spend a beautiful weekend afternoon on the patio, enjoy the wine, live music, and maybe share a pizza! Up for an adventure? Pack your picnic basket and enjoy a film in the vines at Noboleis during the summer months! We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Swirl, their line of canned sangria mixed with Noboleis wine and REAL fruit. Found at select local supermarkets, at Energizer Park, and of course at Noboleis!

Olive & Oak Happy Hour

216 W Lockwood Ave, Webster Groves, MO 63119

This is another spot known best for its menu and dining experience, but it’s so fun to come here and sit at the bar during happy hour! They’ve got a great assortment of items to nibble on while you sip! Love the single burger for just $9 and a glass of house wine for $8. Or make a dinner reservation and come enjoy a glass before you dine!

Basso at the Cheshire

7036 Clayton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63117

This is my absolute favorite spot in St. Louis for a glass with a friend! This dark, moody spot nestled below the historic Cheshire Inn will transport you. Back in time? To a dark bistro in New York or Paris? Either way, this is such a fun spot to sit at the bar, enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail, and order something divine from their dining menu. Two words: truffle fries.

Happy hour runs Monday – Friday from 4 – 6 pm. Wine is just $5 per glass.

Honorable mention: Louie’s Wine Dive and Winnie’s Wine Bar are both on my list to try, so I can’t give an opinion yet.
