An Idyllic Getaway at the Ozarker Lodge

The Ozarker is all about warmth, slowing things down, and simplicity. You won’t find a large resort with endless activities here, but you will find a quiet space with the chance to enjoy time together and time outside! We were greeted right away with a smile from the warm and inviting staff. They assured us they were just a phone call away if we needed their assistance. Someone on the staff arrived at our room right on cue to deliver the pack-and-play for our baby!

We have four children, so two of our kids chose the bunk beds, and then the other one got a queen bed to themselves! Of course, everyone had to have a turn in the bunk beds, so we switched sleeping arrangements for night two. The room was small, but comfortable and warm. 

If spending time at Silver Dollar City during the holidays has always been on your list, I’d highly recommend making it happen! It was cold the day we went, so some of the rides weren’t in operation due to safety, so we received a discounted ticket. The crowds can be overwhelming on the weekends, so if you’re able to sneak away during the week, that’ll be your best bet! Highly recommend splurging for the premium parking if you’ve got small kiddos in your crew, it’ll make the start and ending of your trip much easier. It’s worth it to stay for the evening parade! But be prepared for a long wait to exit the park as most people will all be trying to leave at the same time. Pack your patience!

You can up the luxury factor of your stay by adding on some fun items, whether it be goodies to have in your room upon arrival, like charcuterie, cookies, or wine! There’s a heated outdoor pool and creekside cedar soaking tubs, talk about a perfect end to a day of sightseeing. You can also purchase s’mores kits from the bar, snag a fire pit, and roast s’mores by the fire! One of our favorite fall/winter pastimes. 

I have two words for you: FREE BREAKFAST. You’ll enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast every morning in their cozy breakfast room. They have a variety of items, including pastries, cereals, overnight oats, hard-boiled eggs, toast, and of course, coffee! If you’d like to upgrade to lattes or more barista style items, you can place your order for that at the bar.

Perhaps the biggest highlight for families is the creek behind the lodge where you can put your feet in when weather permits, skip rocks, climb rocks, and just enjoy being outside! Who doesn’t love a creek?
