The Magic House is truly the ultimate Mom Hack for planning birthday parties! Have you ever just shown up to your own kid’s birthday party? No prep, no cleaning, no shopping, no cake ordering?!
I am not sure why we didn’t do this before his 7th birthday! We easily picked a date through their reservation site – just a few weeks in advance! It took me just minutes to pick a date and reserve our party – this was much appreciated as June is full of so many celebrations in our family.
Birthday parties include one hour in a private party room to gather for the main celebration! This time is perfect for snacks, cake, and opening gifts! You can bring your own snacks and treats or order snacks from the on-site Picnic Basket Cafe. The private room comes with your own party concierge who takes care of everything including set-up, clean-up, and bringing the gifts right to your car! There’s even an add on package for kids to decorate their own cupcakes!

I loved the flexibility of having up to 30 people attend, including admission to the museum, and cupcakes to decorate for all of the children. Since my son was turning 7, and with having a party over the summer, we had just a few kids from his class and their siblings attend along with parents who stuck around for the fun of it. The Magic House staff called me to review details about our party, where to check in, and how to access the museum and party room.
????Hot tip????: The Saturday afternoon party slot worked WONDERFULLY for us. The time in our room was scheduled to end 30 minutes before the closure of the museum, so we arrived early to play (all birthday attendees are allowed to access the museum before or after the party time) and it was so much easier to nudge my kiddos away from the fun in the museum so that they could move to the birthday party room!

The day of the party, we had a blast with a few friends and their parents, playing in the museum. We then heard our special announcement on the overhead speaker prompting everyone to head to our private party space.
In our party room, we were greeted by two of the nicest staff members who really took it from there! We did two art activities led by the Magic House staff, who easily got the kiddos through them. We finished off with cupcake decorating, and yes, the cupcakes were delicious.
I handed out goodie bags that I had prepared at home to all the kids (though I was seriously tempted to purchase them from the Magic House for only $5 each) and we were all done!
The day felt so special for my son and it was such a treat to witness his experience with the museum, his friends, and our family. From the special birthday sticker, birthday tshirt, and balloons, it was one of our favorite birthday parties!
With very little prep, no clean up and no fuss, we were able to remain present and even have a little fun with him on his big day.
Thank you Magic House!????
