Prairie Farms + Alex’s Lemonade Stand Make Summer Sweeter

Prairie Farms and Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation are making it easy for St. Louis moms to make a difference with this sponsored post.

In St. Louis, we know summer is synonymous with tart, refreshing lemonade. It’s the perfect companion to summer fun, and it sure helps kids keep playing through the record temps. We also know that lemonade made locally is just that much sweeter. Prairie Farms has been cooling off St. Louis summers with both classic Lemonade and Raspberry Lemonade flavors, made with no artificial sweeteners, colors, or flavors. And Prairie Farms is making each sweet sip of lemonade even more refreshing this summer by partnering with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U.S. As a mom with far too many friends who have faced childhood cancer with their kids, I’ve learned how shockingly underfunded pediatric cancer research is compared to cancer research overall.

Children rely on us to take care of them, and supporting Prairie Farms and Alex’s Lemonade Stand is a small way we can help. For every Prairie Farms lemonade sold, a portion of the sale will be donated to support cancer research. Prairie Farms has pledged a minimum of $100,000 to the cause. I know St. Louis area moms and how magic happens when we all pull together, so I love that Prairie Farms and Alex’s Lemonade Stand have made it so easy for us to make our kids happy as we strive to make a difference.

It’s so easy, the whole family can cool off with a simple Prairie Farms Arnold Palmer! Or how about a Frosted Lemonade that you don’t need to drive thru to pick up? Bake summer memories with the kids as you whip up Lemonade Scones with Lemon Curd and Cream. Some of my favorite memories with my kids have been strewn with butter, sugar, and puffs of flour in the air (and all over the floor). We bake so often that we have seasonal favorites that we have to make each year … lemonade scones are about to be added to our summer rotation!

Summer never lasts long enough, but it always leaves sweet souvenirs behind. This summer, I’m telling my kids how each lemony sip helps others in our community and around the world. We can also donate to Alex’s Lemonade Stand directly, so I’m thinking we’ll cool off our neighbors with a lemonade stand, and donate the proceeds online.

With such an easy way for us to help make a difference, I’d love to end the summer on a sweet note … with Prairie Farms.

Carol is married with four kids, who range in age from 10 to 20-years-old. She moved to St. Louis when she was 12, and except for four years living in Southern California as a newlywed, she’s lived here since. As a Mizzou graduate, Carol began her post-college career in publishing, and then switched gears to teach early elementary. Since having kids, she has been lucky enough to stay home with them. The Kerbers call Castlewood Stables in Ballwin their home, and all of their neighbors run around on four legs. While this lifestyle seems a bit foreign to her nature, being part of the STL Mom team is just the opposite. Carol has always loved to write but had never really given that dream wings until now. Being part of the St. Louis Mom team fulfills both the editor and writer in her spirit, and she gets to write about what she knows best: being a mom.
