Fenced-In Playgrounds in STL to Add To Your List!

It’s no secret moms love a good fenced-in playground! Not only does it give us a break but it also provides a greater level of security, especially for our youngest kiddos. Here’s a roundup of fenced-in playgrounds we love in St. Louis. Let us know which others we should check out!

Angie’s Playground

170 Manion Park Drive, Florissant, MO 63031

This inclusive park can be found at Manion Park in Florissant. The brightly colored flower theme makes this playground so whimsical! Head to Made by Lia nearby for a treat afterwards!

Bluebird Park

225 Kiefer Creek Road, Ellisville, MO 63021

The playground is mostly (not completely) fenced with two separate areas for play – one area for the little kids, and a bigger playground for the big kids – and some swings at the end, with infant and handicap-friendly swings. In between the two play areas are some shaded picnic tables, perfect for chatting with your mom friends as you drink your coffee and watch the kiddos! We love bringing breakfast or lunch and eating at the playground before play. Bluebird has nature walking trails throughout the park to go on adventures together. There are baseball fields and pavilions available for rent. In the summertime, don’t forget The EDGE Aquatic Center, where there is a dedicated toddler time at the splash pad first thing in the morning and swim lessons or swim team options available.

Demun Park

810 De Mun Avenue, Clayton, MO 63105

This playground nestled in the Demun neighborhood is a GEM! There are two play areas for younger and older children, with clean restrooms nearby and a mister for those hot summer days! Take a stroll and stop for a scoop at Clementine’s Creamery nearby OR an iced latte at Kaldi’s! Our only (minor) complaint is the street parking, but it’s usually not too difficult to find a spot!

Green Pines Park

16550 Pond Grover Parkway, Wildwood, MO 63011

A local mom favorite! This tiny little gem, located in the heart of a Wildwood neighborhood, is completely fenced in!

The Heights Playground

8001 Dale Ave, Richmond Heights, MO 63117

This recently renovated playground nestled behind the Heights in Richmond Heights is a favorite! The upgraded playground has lots of fun climbing opportunities, and there’s quite a bit of shade provided by the surrounding trees. Restrooms are available in close proximity inside the Heights building. If you venture beyond the playground, you’ll find a shaded nature classroom/area and a large sand pit!

Jaycee Park

This hidden park in St. Charles has everything you might want! Vast playground, swings, and a beautiful shaded splash pad for those hot summer months!

Kiener Plaza Park

500 Chestnut St, St. Louis, MO 63101

Don’t miss this gem in the middle of the city! Tucked in between the sculpture garden and the arch, you’ll find a playground and fountains. Their shade garden is a sweet spot to relax while you’re there! This park provides plenty of tables and benches as well.

Logan’s Community Playground

11334 St. John’s Church Road, St. Louis, MO 63123

This fully accessible park is intended for all children of varying abilities with a variety of play structures. We love that it’s fully fenced in, too! If you go after school, you’ll be treated to a most gorgeous view of the sunset.

There are no restrooms here, so plan accordingly.

A must visit in loving memory of a young man gone way too soon!

Millennium Park

2 Barnes W Dr, Creve Coeur, MO 63141

The playground isn’t fenced in, but we thought it was worth mentioning that the splash pad is! The splash pad runs from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. And it’s located conveniently right next to both the restrooms and the playground!

Monaco Park

Kirkwood, MO 63122

This hidden gem in Kirkwood has 3 seat swings, one baby swing, a small little climbing wall, shaded gazebo and a free little library! Parking is nearby, but no restrooms are available.

Oak Knoll Park

Clayton, MO 63105

Oak Knoll Park is one of our favorite local parks with lots of options for play and exploration! The park boasts a fully fenced in, woodland-themed playground. The bathroom is a solid 5 minute walk from the playground, so take note of that if you have multiple children to supervise. There is a beautiful walking path that leads to a hidden and picturesque sunken garden. There’s also a great picnic area next to the playground where you can enjoy lunch outdoors! You can also make your way to the fountain and pond where you can catch turtles out on the rocks!

Shaw Park

27 South Brentwood Blvd., Clayton, MO 63105

Shaw Park is another Clayton gem! At this park, you’ll find a splash pad, fenced-in play area, play structures for all ages, covered pavilion for a picnic, a bathroom near the playground with a changing table, and a sensory garden!

Nestled in the heart of Clayton, we love all the local shops and eateries you can visit before or after park time! Happy hour at 5 Star Burgers is one of the best deals in town and so family friendly. Planning some morning playtime? Stop for a crepe from the City Coffeehouse & Creperie.

Stacy Park

9750 Old Bonhomme Road, Olivette, MO 63132

Stacy Park, located in Olivette, is a favorite of ours as an all-inclusive, accessible playground with play structures for all ages AND a completely enclosed toddler playground. There’s a large pavilion for gatherings, in addition to lots of space for picnics. Take note the restroom is a bit far from the playgrounds. Parking is also a bit of a trek from the playground, but there is a huge space to park.

Teddy and Friends Playground

550 Weidman Rd, Manchester, MO 63011

This playground has a colorful board game theme! Here, kids can swing, play, or find calm in a quiet corner where they can still view the playground, but feel cozy and safe. It also has fencing and a soft surface.

Tot Lot

259 Bellemeade Drive, St. Peters, MO 63376

This park in St. Peters is perfect for toddlers! Plenty of parking nearby but with immaculate restrooms! These are the things moms need to know!

Variety Wonderland Playground

5601-5653 Grand Dr, St. Louis, MO 63112

Located right outside the Forest Park Visitor’s Center, and also just a stone’s throw from the Missouri History Museum! This was one of the very first playgrounds in St. Louis to be fully accessible to children of all abilities. Tucked in away form the hustle and bustle of the park, it’s a great spot for kids of all ages!

Yale Park

2108 Yale Avenue, Maplewood, MO 63143

This tiny park is nestled in the heart of residential Maplewood. There are four swings too (two for babies, two regular). Dogs with leashes are welcom! Plenty of street parking is available. The park is just one block from Flavor360 which sells healthy food/snacks, and there is a free library box on the corner as well!

Zachary’s Playground

8392 Off Road, Lake St. Louis, MO 63367

Zachary’s Playground was designed by Unlimited Play, a non-profit that builds universally accessible playgrounds, and was built 15 years ago for children of all abilities to enjoy. It is stroller, wheelchair and walker friendly, with ramps, swings, tunnels, slides, and multiple playground areas to keep kids of all ages entertained for hours. The play area is fenced in with a few openings around the park. It overlooks a shaded pavilion area with picnic tables and a 1/2 mile paved trail around a pond to enjoy the scenery. There are bathrooms onsite and plenty of parking spaces. All equipment meets or exceeds ADA standards so that everyone can play
