Mom’s Guide to Peaches

Summer is peach season, and as peach lovers know, there’s no sweeter taste than a perfectly ripe peach! We have gathered a list of local orchards where you can stock up on the freshest this summer!

Before heading out to pick your own fruit, please call ahead and verify hours and that the fruit is ready to be picked!

🍑Eckert’s

Belleville: 951 S Green Mount Rd, Belleville, IL 62220
Grafton: 20995 Eckert Orchard Rd, Grafton, IL 62037

There’s nothing quite like a fresh peach right off the tree, and our seventh- and eighth-generation farmers take that to heart every year as they nurture our trees to produce the sweetest, juiciest peaches around. If you’re looking for peach picking in Belleville, IL, spend a relaxing summer day exploring the fields, snacking on a few peaches right off the tree, or filling a bushel to take home. These versatile fruits are perfect for homemade pies, cobblers, jams, ice cream, or sweet adult beverages. We expect peach picking to open in early July—stay tuned.

🍑 Thierbach Orchards

15885 Orchard Lane, Marthasville, MO 63357

Peaches! This is what it is all about—a peach orchard is what started us on this fruit-growing adventure! We grow many varieties of peaches from the well know Redhaven and Elberta to the lesser known but popular Glohaven and Biscoe. We let our peaches ripen on the trees for the best tree-ripened flavor and texture. We start picking peaches with Earliglos at the beginning of July and continue picking different varieties until September. Our peaches are available at our Markets in Marthasville and Washington and we take them to local farmer’s markets.

Daily | 8 am – 1 pm

Carol Kerber
Carol is married with four kids, who range in age from 10 to 20-years-old. She moved to St. Louis when she was 12, and except for four years living in Southern California as a newlywed, she’s lived here since. As a Mizzou graduate, Carol began her post-college career in publishing, and then switched gears to teach early elementary. Since having kids, she has been lucky enough to stay home with them. The Kerbers call Castlewood Stables in Ballwin their home, and all of their neighbors run around on four legs. While this lifestyle seems a bit foreign to her nature, being part of the STL Mom team is just the opposite. Carol has always loved to write but had never really given that dream wings until now. Being part of the St. Louis Mom team fulfills both the editor and writer in her spirit, and she gets to write about what she knows best: being a mom.
