Every December, my social feed lights up with trees, garlands, and photoshoots with Santa. And while I love seeing my friends’ traditions, this time of year looks a little different in my home. As we are all winding down from the holidays and sending our kids back to school, many people observe Dry January as a way to reset their bodies in the New Year. Dry January doesn’t have to be boring when we’re living in St. Louis! Mocktails are so much more than the cranberry juice creations I had when I was pregnant 7 years ago. Local St. Louis mixologists have upped the game and made it easy to be alcohol-free far beyond Dry January. Do you bribe yourself with little treats? Maybe encourage would be the better term. The past two years I’ve encouraged myself to make it through dreary January with the promise of a tattoo. A little something to look forward to, if you will. I am currently laying in a hotel bed, in a chronic health flare, preparing to board a cruise ship that will test my physical, emotional, and mental capacity. Gifted family vacations, while generous, can be very tricky. Thankfully, I have a little something waiting for me when I get back- a congrats for surviving tattoo- so, survive I will.

Is it really Spring after approximately 8 million snow days this year!? Joking (mostly)! But truly, those little shoots of daffodils and tulips sprouting from the ground have given me so much joy! Spring officially arrives on March 20^th, and the following day is National Flower Day! In honor of these 2 milestones, here is a roundup of my favorite places to see flowers around St. Louis.
