Don’t overlook self-love on Valentine’s Day!
February. It’s the month of love. For some, it’s the anticipation of romantic plans. Flowers. Chocolates. Perhaps a getaway. A fancy dinner. A home-cooked meal.
For some, it’s Galentine’s day. A girls dinner or drinks. A night out on the town.
And for some, the month can bring up feelings of sadness or loneliness.
As Mamas, we often neglect ourselves while we care for little humans day in and day out. Our brains become trained to think of others and put our own needs last.
This year, I’m sharing 5 ideas for treating yourself this Valentine’s Day. After all, self-love is the best love!
- Book yourself a massage. No need to wait and wonder if someone is going to book you a spa day. Book it for yourself, Mama!
- Request a day free of responsibilities. The mental weight of always planning, managing little humans, meal prep, activities, playing referee with the siblings is heavy— the ultimate gift is a day to truly be carefree and not be in charge! Ask a friend, parent, or spouse to take over for a day.
- Grab dinner with a girlfriend. Girl time is the best time. Sometimes, we all need a good laugh, a solid vent session, and sometimes even a good cry. There are some shoes no one can fill except your ladies.
- Treat yo self. Eyeing something but haven’t been convinced to buy it yet? You deserve it!
- Hire a cleaning service for the day. If you already have a regular cleaning service, book a bonus day. What Mama doesn’t love a clean home that she didn’t have to clean?
Which one of these is the ideal gift for you? What else would you add?
