This gooey, fudgy post is sponsored by Hudsonville Ice Cream.
Hudsonville Ice Cream has become a staple in our freezer since they started selling it at Schnucks. We enjoy both their traditional and more creative flavors, and the value for the price is unmatched.
Another long-standing tradition in our home is Gooey Fudgy Cookies. Invented by my husband when our oldest was a baby, this family dessert makes an appearance for many family events, including, but not limited to, commemorating the lazy days of summer drawing to a close and returning to school.
It all starts with a warm chocolate chip cookie (or cookies … depending on how big of a dessert you are going for). We keep it simple with pre-made dough, but you could use any recipe you choose. It is only necessary that it be warm. Top your cookie with the ice cream flavor of your choice. We tried the Deer Traxx and Brownie Batter Cookie Dough. Brownie Batter was voted the favorite, with only mom preferring the vanilla-based Deer Traxx.
You can top it with Hot Fudge or a simple Hershey’s Syrup.
The boys in our house prefer their cookies on the bottom. The girls like to break ours into pieces on top. However you choose to serve it, it is simple, quick, and always tastes best with our new favorite, Hudsonville Ice Cream.
