How do you celebrate and gift the mothers and women in your life, or like to be celebrated yourself? These days, I find myself focusing on aligning that celebration with values, passions, and priorities we hope to support in the world.
So many of us are craving a community and economy that promotes artisan-crafted goods, integrity, sustainability, simplicity, and connection. Happily, I find myself surrounded by amazing women who bring beauty and integrity into everything they craft or facilitate. I’m thrilled to share three of these local brands with you.

Lindsey Hinderer Portraits creates heirloom portraiture, here in St. Louis, which is focused on honoring who you are at your core- these portraits celebrate the here and now in an honest, beautiful way. Whether commemorating a milestone birthday, new season in life, or just celebrating YOU, Lindsey is a master of light, gives supreme posing prompts, and captures the tenderness or fire in your eyes. I will treasure the process and connection in the studio with Lindsey, and feel like a work of art painted by the masters in my portraits.

Carol at Alton Art Revival in Alton, IL, is ready to support your creative dreams in another way- making art and craft accessible to all, sustainable, and community-focused. When I took my kiddos there to “fill a bag” with preloved and donated art supplies, I started to notice items that I could use for my own piece. The prices were so reasonable, and the playlist on the Bluetooth speaker was inspired, which freed me to imagine creating my own art, full of meaning and expression. You will be pulled into Carol’s vision of community and joy when you stop by Art Revival. Perhaps, set your mother or bestie free with a basket to fill, and then spend the afternoon creating together.

Meg at Slow Goods Studio has a vision to support coming home to yourself- through the freedom of dressing outside the pressures of trends and seasons. Instead, she offers garments made here in St. Louis- beautifully designed, sewn, and shipped by herself and a (very) small team. The linen and fabrics are carefully sourced, lovingly crafted, and meant to last. The sizing is inclusive and comfortable, the colors divine, and the fit is perfect for simple silhouettes or superlative layering. Slowing down for the good stuff gives us a chance to decrease the impact of fast fashion on our environment and society.
Each of these women has impacted me in ways that I can’t fully express. The ripples of their intention, genius, and care for the world are still moving through me, and therefore the people and spaces I engage with.
What world do you hope to help support and create with your gifting this month?
