Local Mocktails that are Far From Boring!

Mocktails, anyone? Find the best ones STL has to offer!

As we are all winding down from the holidays and sending our kids back to school, many people observe Dry January as a way to reset their bodies in the New Year. Dry January doesn’t have to be boring when we’re living in St. Louis! Mocktails are so much more than the cranberry juice creations I had when I was pregnant 7 years ago. Local St. Louis mixologists have upped the game and made it easy to be alcohol-free far beyond Dry January. These are some of my favorite places for mocktails, and I would love for you to share which one you enjoyed! Cheers!

Planter’s House

1000 Mississippi Ave

Planter’s House deserves to be mentioned first, as it has been regarded as one of the best cocktail bars in St. Louis for many years. They have an equally creative mocktail menu including the Fancy Free, which is my pick for the winter with flavors of ginger and cinnamon.

Bowood by Niche

4605 Olive Street

You can’t go wrong with anything that comes from Niche Food Group, and if you’re a brunch girlie, you have to try Bowood by Niche. The location is an absolutely gorgeous setting, and the mocktail menu is far from boring. You can enjoy a morning chai with the Hot Witch or winter flavors with the Fig-ettaboutit.

Mainlander

8 South Euclid Ave

As a foodie, Mainlander holds a special place in my heart as it’s one of the best culinary experiences in St. Louis right now. For this special date night, you can choose a non-alcoholic cocktail pairing with your meal that definitely won’t disappoint. Even the welcome punch is offered with a spirit-free option.

Hidden Gem

3108 Locust Street

This place is the most fun! If you like everything pink and disco balls are your jam, then you need to have a girls’ night at Hidden Gem. This “disco dive bar” has great mocktails, including six different flavors of spirit-free Moscow Mules.

Session Taco (formerly Mission Taco)

398 N. Euclid Ave – CWE

6235 Delmar Blvd – The Loop

105 E. Jefferson Ave – Kirkwood

908 Lafayette Ave – Soulard

1650 Beale St, Suite #130 – St. Charles

1000 Woods Mill Plaza – Town and Country

Happy hour with chips and margs is a staple, and Session Taco offers this experience with zero proof tequila. I actually prefer Palomas because I love grapefruit, and lucky for me these can be alcohol-free as well! NA margs are only $5 during happy hour from 3-6 pm Monday-Friday.

Retreat Gastropub

6 North Sarah Street

Retreat Gastropub is a hidden gem tucked off the beaten path in the CWE. They offer so many spirit-free options, from creative cocktails like the Cold Fashioned, to NA beers, NA wine, and shrub or cold brew tonics.

Katie’s Pizza and Pasta

751 Clark Ave – Ballpark Village

9568 Manchester Rd – Rock Hill

14171 Clayton Rd – Town and Country

Katie’s is a staple in St. Louis and really just a great place for all occasions: family night, date night, girls’ night out, or brunch. Grab a glass of faux “secco” or a fresh Paddle Up spirit-free whiskey mocktail.

Puttshack

3730 Foundry Way, Ste 100

I wanted to add in some fun options to enjoy mocktails during a night out with the family! Puttshack has really creative cocktails, including one with a jalapeno popsicle, and the mocktails are just as fun. Try the Cotton Candy Crush which has an added dose of caffeine.

Alamo Drafthouse

3765 Foundry Way, Ste 275

Just walk upstairs at the Foundry and you’ll find another great entertainment option with mocktails at Alamo Drafthouse. You can enjoy your drinks while watching a movie or at the bar during one of their free trivia nights.
