I’ll be honest— I don’t live in Chesterfield. I live next door in Wildwood, but we’re separated by a corner of Ellisville and I pretty much spend 50% of my time in Chesterfield. My husband works there, I workout there, we play there, and if we’re not in Wildwood, you can find us in Chesterfield. I couldn’t pass up a chance to highlight this great part of West St. Louis County, so here are the many reasons why I low-key (or maybe not so low-key) wish I lived in Chesterfield.
Right now is the perfect time to catch an outdoor concert at the 34th Annual Summer Concert Series over at Faust Park on Tuesdays during the summer. Aside from live music and food trucks, you’ll find kids’ activities like the ridiculously fun Bubble Bus.
The Chesterfield Amphitheatre is hosting events again! This fantastic venue has excellent views from both the seats or lawn.
One aspect of Chesterfield that I absolutely adore is their Arts in the City exhibits. In 2015, Arts was added to the Parks & Recreation Department in an effort to showcase art and increase interest within the local community. This has led to numerous pieces of art being displayed throughout the city. Some are your typical statues, but others are eye-catching and grand.
Chesterfield is home to some delicious restaurants and has plenty of places to pick up sweet treats.
For a date night or moms’ night out, I love Vito’s in the Valley. Vito’s has a great patio, and they’re open 7 days a week and offer weekend brunch with bottomless bubbly, Happy Hour, and more!
If you’re looking for something for a weeknight fix, East Coast Pizza is perfect. During the day, they have an affordable pizza slice option which keeps me from getting hangry after mornings at our favorite parks nearby.
Whether you’re looking for a birthday cake or an everyday sweet treat, be sure to stop by Sarah’s Cake Shop. Their Glitter Bites® (little puffs of cake filled with buttercream, covered in chocolate, and rolled in sanding sugar) are a family favorite.
The City of Chesterfield has nearly 600 acres of beautiful parkland and trails available for residents and neighbors. Then there’s St. Louis County Faust Park, which is amazing, too. That’s a lot of space, and there’s something for everyone. Here are a few of my favorites:
Faust Park is perfect for littles and bigs alike. They have a smaller play area that’s perfect for early walkers, and there’s a play structure for bigs. It’s not enclosed, but the shade and seating make up for it. You’ll also find the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House here.
Chesterfield Central Park was the first park I visited when we moved to West County. This park has walking trails, stream walks, an inclusive playground, fishing, an aquatic center, and more. Remember that art I wrote about earlier? You can find many pieces right here.
If you’re looking for some great trails, Chesterfield has them! My favorite is the River’s Edge Trail.
For years I practiced yoga in a gym with group sessions as part of my membership. Then I became pregnant and did prenatal yoga. Over the last two years, I’ve only done YouTube yoga, but after finding Offbeat Yoga, I’m not sure why I didn’t try to find a studio sooner. If you’re looking for a studio full of understanding instructors with an inspiring Instagram that can help boost your spirit, be sure to follow them.
The St. Louis Carousel in Faust Park may not be a “hidden” gem, but it’s a gem. The carousel was created in the 1920s and will soon turn 100 years old. It is housed indoors, and it’s the perfect activity when you’re looking to just get out of the house for a bit.
I love where I live in West County, but Chesterfield is special for my family and me. If you’re ever around and you happen to see us, be sure to wave!
