A Day In The Life Of A Preschooler

0

Do you ever wonder what your preschooler does ALL day at school? How do those magical teachers keep them entertained and happy for 8+ hours on the daily?

Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool is here to give you a glimpse of what your kiddos are up to in their program!

6 to 8:30 AM Arrival and Free Play

Kids arrive and are personally escorted to their classrooms by staff members who give them a “Red Carpet Service” unloading them from cars. Parents don’t need to dread rough drop-offs, since kids are walked into school by their teachers.

8:30 to 9 AM Wash Hands and Have Breakfast

Not having to feed your littles breakfast before getting them out the door is one less thing to worry about!  Little Sunshine’s Playhouse has chefs who make breakfast and lunch from scratch, so you know your kids are being fed fresh, healthy food.  And even better, each meal is served family style to teach table manners.

9 to 9:45 AM Morning Learning Centers

Children have a wide variety of dramatic play options in every class.  Kitchens, dress-up stations, and art are just some of the options!

9:45 to 10:10 AM Circle Time

Kids gather in the morning for Circle Time.  Story time and singing songs are just some of the things they participate in during this time.

10:10 to 10:40 AM Outside Free Play

Time to get those wiggles out!  Little Sunshine’s famous treehouse playground, and tricycle path are some of the fun activities kids engage in during this morning free time.

10:45 to 11:30 AM Kindergarten Readiness, Workbook Curriculum and Letter Of The Week

Little Sunshine’s goal is to make sure every student in their programs are prepared to enter the world of “big kid school” as kindergarteners.  Through working on proprietary curriculum and focusing on one letter a week, they make sure kiddos are ready to enter the world of elementary school.

11:30 to Noon Lunch/Brush Teeth/Restrooms/Wash Hands

After another home cooked meal at Little Sunshine for lunch, students start healthy habits of brushing their teeth after every meal, then use the restroom and wash their hands for afternoon activities.

12:15 PM to 3 PM NAP TIME!

Everyone’s favorite time! After working hard all morning and getting physical with their bodies, little ones are ready for a rest time. Pillows and blankets from home provide a cozy, home-like atmosphere for an energizing nap time.

3 to 3:30 PM Snack/Wash Hands/Reading Time

A healthy afternoon snack is served before diving into story time with their teachers.

3:30 to 4 PM Afternoon Learning Centers

Much like the morning learning centers, students have their choice of dramatic play, art, crafts, or any number of other activities.

4 to 4:15 PM Reading Time

Story time is many kid’s favorite time of our day! Readings generally coincide with the workbook curriculum and letter of the week or additional reinforcement of key learning objectives.

4:15 to 4:45 PM Outside Activity/Free Play

Weather permitting, children head outside again to play on Little Sunshine’s unique turf under the play structures, and race bikes around the custom race track.

4:45 to 5:30 PM Rotate Learning Centers

Students engage in learning centers one last time in the day before being picked up and heading home.
