Hi again! Remember me? I was here in June telling the tale of tiring my child out at Creve Coeur Lake Park! Well, I’m back!
During these long, hot summer days I try to find ways to tire out my child while indoors. We’ve visited just about every bounce and indoor playground in the St. Louis area. When a friend invited me to check out the Flying Spider with she and her son, I jumped at the chance. It’s out of the way for us but I’ve really wanted to check it out for awhile now. I’m so glad we did! This is by far my favorite local indoor playground.
Most of these places are super cold because of the jumping and what not, but this one didn’t completely freeze me out. Hooray!
Usually there are not very many seats, maybe a hard bench here and there. Not the case at the Flying Spider! These couches are amazingly comfortable and numerous!
Flying Spider also has the most open floor plan of all the jump places I’ve visited. You have a good view of your child from just about any seat! The toddler time (6 & under) is available every day (except Thursday and Sunday) from 9-10am. I would definitely take advantage of this time without the bigger children if you can. It gets pretty wild in there.
This indoor playground has the most variety in the activities offered, as well. There is the Ninja obstacle course, which is great fun for the kids, not so much for this Momma. Be warned: the more you weigh, the harder it is to get out of foam blocks when you fall. Embarrassing and eye-opening for sure.
We fought each other with big foam-wrapped tubes while balancing on a plank, which was really fun! My son mostly just ran around the dodgeball area with other kids and left me to talk to my friend. It was a great day for all!
Since we went on a weekday, the price for my child was $15 for an hour. It is more pricy than some of the other places but I thought it was money well spent. I did not buy tickets or sign the waver online, two things I normally do to ensure his jump time. It was not a problem at all! We arrived RIGHT before a mad rush did just a few minutes after we paid. I brought socks from Sky Zone for my child to use. Flying Spider would not let him wear those but let me trade in the Sky Zone socks for a pair of theirs for free. I thought that was a pretty sweet deal. All in all I highly recommend checking out this indoor playground!
