Mark Platt Saint Louis Tennis is where Tennis is FUN! For children and teens, we offer an all-encompassing program specifically geared to the beginning tennis player: parties, team tennis leagues, community-based lessons and special events. Summer lessons too!
Things to Consider Before Signing Your Child Up for Tennis
- What do you hope to get out of tennis lessons? Does your child want to simply try a new sport or do they want to play competitively? Are they playing for fitness?
- Do you want private lessons (more one-on-one instruction but less opportunity to play against others with similar skills) or group lessons (more cost effective, more social)?
- Choose the right sized racket. Don’t just dust off the one in the garage for your child. Youth rackets are usually made of aluminum to make them lighter. They usually have shorter handles, and a bigger head. Take the height of the child into consideration. The Wilson website shares guidelines for sizing youth rackets.
