Nothing says summer like watching movies under the stars. As much fun as it is to project a movie in your own backyard, there’s something special about gathering as a community and relaxing together. Check out some local spots you can take the family for a movie night under the stars!

St. Louis Art Museum Art Hill Movie Series

The 2024 Art Hill Film Series is a free, non-ticketed event held on two summer Fridays: July 12 and July 19. The party starts at 6 pm with music and food trucks, and the feature film will begin at 9 pm.

Tower Grove Nature Night Film Series

Meet at the West End of Tower Grove Park for a summer series of free family fun and film screenings! Fun, educational hands-on activities and demonstrations that tie into the movie theme kick off at 6:30 pm. The movie begins at 8:00 pm sharp.

You, your family, your neighbors, and everyone else is invited! These events are free to the community. Neighbors and community organizations usually start gathering around 7pm, and the show begins as soon as it’s dark.

Bring the lawn chairs and blankets to The Marketplace for an outdoor movie night! Grab dinner from the food truck, play games, and stop by the concession stand for all your movie goodies before the show. All movies are G, PG, or PG-13 and begin at sunset. Admission is free. Lot opens at 6:30pm. Movie begins at sunset (around 8pm).

 

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, and maybe bug spray. The movie will start as soon as it gets dark enough.

Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and head out to Boulevard Park Amphitheater to enjoy Movies in the Park. Movies begin at dusk. The public is invited to see free family movies on the first Saturday of the month from June to September. All movies will be shown at Edwardsville City Park Bandstand located next to the public library at sunset.  Come early, lay down your blanket, take part in pre-movie community activities.

Instructions are given upon arrival to instruct you where to park to get the best view based on your type of vehicle. Movie audio is streamed through your FM radio. FYI, cash only!  Plan accordingly.

Lawn Chair Movie Night in Union City Park

Free movie series held on the third Friday evening of the month in the large grassy area next to the Large Pavilion. The movie series is free and family friendly. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, food and coolers! All friends of the community are invited. In the event of rain, the movie will be pulled under the Large Pavilion.
