The Modern Village Reinvented
The New Year always brings a sense of fresh starts – new routines, new goals, new intentions. But for new moms, the transition into motherhood doesn’t follow a calendar. It’s tender, overwhelming, beautiful, disorienting, joyful, and exhausting – seemingly all at once.
And the truth is:
Most moms don’t need a “new you.”
They need a new village.
That’s exactly what we’re building at New Mom School St. Louis West County – a place where moms aren’t expected to figure everything out alone, where questions are welcomed, where support is consistent, and where the community actually feels like home.
At New Mom School, we offer in-person classes here in St. Louis for moms of newborns, infants and toddlers. Our programs connect you with the expert, pediatrician-backed advice you need to navigate new motherhood with confidence, and connect you with other supportive new moms in the area. You just might meet your new best friend. You can find more about our classes here.
We’re on a mission to change what support looks like for new moms in St. Louis. Every mom in our community deserves more. More care, more connection, more clarity, and more confidence.
In 2026, we’re reimagining what being a new mom can feel like.

Hi, St. Louis Moms! My name is Ali Kochtanek, and I was born and raised right here in our incredible city. When I became a mom, I was completely blindsided by how overwhelming those early weeks and months felt. I was exhausted, unsure, and trying to figure everything out on the fly. And like so many moms, I didn’t realize how much support I needed until I was already running on empty.
As both a DONA-certified Postpartum Doula and Pediatric Sleep Consultant, I kept hearing the same message from every mom I met: “We need more support.” The need for community, connection, and expert guidance was loud and clear.
When I imagine how motherhood was meant to be experienced, I think back to thousands of years ago – when women raised babies together. A circle of moms with little ones the same age, sharing wisdom, supporting one another, and learning from women who had walked the path before them. That’s the exact spirit we’ve brought to New Mom School.
And now, it’s here in St. Louis – open, welcoming, and ready for you. A soft, supportive place to land, whether you’ve just had your baby or you’re already months into the journey. You deserve community. You deserve expert-led support that helps you feel grounded and confident. And you deserve a postpartum season you’ll look back on and truly smile about.

Why New Mom School Exists
A woman’s matrescence is one of the most transformative seasons in a woman’s life – and yet it often comes with the least amount of support. While the world focuses on the baby, we focus on you — your healing, your confidence, your mental load, your overwhelm, your wins, your questions, and your joy.
We show up for moms the way a true village would: with education, with compassion, with expertise, and with community.
