What makes a city family-friendly? Lots of kid-friendly venues and activities, plenty of dining spots for families, and places around town with lactation spaces! This is a newer trend that just makes sense. Check out these STL venues that offer nursing rooms or quiet spaces for feeding your children when you’re on the go!
St. Louis Aquarium
Guests are welcome to nurse wherever they are comfortable. A private nursing room is available in the women’s restroom on the first floor.
Busch Stadium
Busch Stadium now has a Nursing Mothers Room (lactation room) with 3 separate stations for breastfeeding and breast pumping moms. The 3 stations each have curtain separations and a comfy leather chair for moms to sit and nurse or express milk during games and events. The room also has a TV and a sink. The breastfeeding room is located in the newly added Family Pavilion closest to section 129.
Chaifetz Arena
A nursing / lactation pod is available near sections 118 / 119.
City SC / Energizer Park
This room is available for anyone, regardless of gender, in need of a space where they can nurse, pump, calm or feed an infant, warm a bottle, or generally provide a baby with a break from the action on the concourse.
City Museum
City Museum has a dedicated lactation space on the 3rd floor in the Toddler Town section. You’ll find a comfy chair and a changing station.
Enterprise Center
The St. Louis Blues have partnered with Missouri Baptist Medical Center in installing two new Baby Nursing Stations at Enterprise Center – the first for the facility. The Baby Nursing Station pods are located at Portal 18 on the plaza level and at Portal 48 on the mezzanine level.
Five Oaks on Warson
The Parents Room at Five Oaks on Warson offers parents and caregivers a quiet and private space to take care of their little (or big) ones.
Located at the end of the hallway with the restrooms and vending machines. Amenities include a reclinable rocking chair, a side table with an outlet, a bluetooth speaker with a scent diffuser, a sink, a changing table, a beanbag chair, a bookshelf, and toys.
Galleria Mall
You will find Baby Care Lounges in the food court at the Galleria Mall.
Grant’s Farm: Baby Care Center and Calming Room
Grant’s Farm is proud to offer a baby care center as well as a sensory calming room for guests to use as needed. They are located in the main office in the Bauernhof Courtyard, next to Guest Services. The Baby Care Center & Calming Room are brought to you by BJC HealthCare and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Lambert International Airport
Mothers traveling through St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) now have a private, dedicated space to nurse or breast pump. Located post-security on all three concourses, near gates A10, C9, and E33, STL’s Lactation Suites are now open.
All Lactation Suites are ADA-compliant and equipped with a sink, power outlets, and a full-back club chair with a moveable arm table. Mothers needing to nurse or breast pump can send a text message to receive a code that will unlock the door. Additional amenities include a moveable ottoman and a bench for additional seating or a place to store travel items during the use of the space. The interior also features modern and calming wall finishes. The exterior walls feature St. Louis inspired digital artwork.
The Magic House: Calming Corner
Located on the lower level, the Calming Corner is the perfect place for nursing mothers, children with special needs and other visitors who could use a soothing space away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the Museum.
The Calming Corner is a private room equipped with a glider and a multitude of quiet activities to soothe and engage children, including books, sensory games, toys and a calming 6-foot bubble tube. This space is the perfect respite for those who need a quiet moment.
Missouri Botanical Garden: Calming Corner
A quiet, comfortable room for nursing moms and for children who need a quiet space to take a break is located in Edward Jones Hall near the Brookings Exploration Center and Doris I. Schnuck Children’s Garden.
Missouri History Museum
Nursing is welcomed and encouraged throughout the Missouri History Museum. MHS is also happy to provide a private space for nursing. The Nursing & Sensory-Friendly Room is located on the Missouri History Museum’s lower level, across from the stairs. It also functions as a calming space for visitors who may be feeling overwhelmed. Please note that this space is for individual use. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Muny: SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Infant Care Suite
This air-conditioned space is a welcome retreat for hungry babies or toddlers who need a break. The Infant Care Suite has gliders for nursing, a changing station and vanity sink, and a mini-fridge available for storing perishable baby needs. To access the Infant Care Suite, find a head usher in white polo and black pants. The suite is located on the lower west covered walkway of the theatre (on the left side, if you’re looking at the stage from your seat).
Six Flags Baby Care Center
Coming to the park with a baby? Don’t worry, they have facilities for everything you will need. Their Baby Care Center is located at Lost Parents near the entrance to Bugs Bunny National Park, and offers facilities for feeding, bottle warming, diaper changing, etc. Additionally, all restrooms have changing stations and bottles may be warmed in most restaurants.
St. Louis Art Museum
Breastfeeding is welcome in the museum, and for more privacy you can find a Mother’s Room near the Education Center.
St. Louis Science Center: Private Nursing Rooms
A private nursing room is available on the Oakland Building’s Lower Level. Please go to the Box Office in the Oakland Building lobby, and a Guest Services Agent will assist you. While we do provide a private, secure area for nursing mothers, it is not required that you use this area. There are plenty of benches and/or chairs throughout the Science Center that will be easily accessible during your visit.
West County Mall
The mall has a dedicated lounge for families on the first floor near JC Penney. Here you will find private nursing rooms, changing tables, a bottle warmer, a microwave, and a TV.
St. Louis Zoo
There are two lactation rooms at the Zoo. One is located in the lower rotunda of The Living World, and the other is located at The First Aid Station near the Conservation Carousel.
