South County At a Glance
South County lies south of Interstate 44, and is not as diverse as other parts of St. Louis County. South County boasts many mid-century style homes and neighborhoods, but you will also find areas where McMansions abound. “Being a new Arnold resident, I’m thrilled to check out all our new community has to offer. In the Spring the local farmers market will be one of our go-tos on the weekend. Nestled along the Meramec River, the farmers market brings local vendors from all over. I love to be around area parks to hike and adventure. Mastodon State Park is a very short drive down the from our home where we can explore. We enjoy the locally owned restaurants, that we frequent for lunch or dinner. In the Summer the Rec-Center is a parent’s dream to keep kiddos active. Arnold is a small but mighty community, and growing everyday.”

“Seven years ago, my husband received a job offer, which took us from NYC to St. Louis. We explored the city as singles, married, and had our first child in 2018. Technically, I wasn’t “new” to STL when I became a mom, but I never explored with “mom goggles” on or had any local friends or family with children. Instead, I focused on my career and making new friends. And then, BAM, I was a mom! I wished for a one-stop-shop guide for a new mom in a new city as I transitioned into motherhood, as there is so much STL has to offer moms and their little ones. I am excited to play a small part in bringing this much-needed resource to life!”
